Volunteer for the Mac Club
Have you ever thought about volunteering? The Mac Club is a service club to Laguna Woods Village residents. Like all clubs in the Village, it is the volunteers that make it all happen. We are fortunate that GRF provides the facilities, but without volunteers to run it, there would be no club, classes, or help with your Apple products.
The Learning Center is open five days a week (except for holidays) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is located on the third floor of the Community Center. Typically, our volunteers man a 3-hour shift each week, and the club is always looking for new volunteers to supplement our dedicated staff. Having experience with Apple devices is great, but it is not a requirement to become a volunteer with the Mac Club. We would pair you with a current volunteer supervisor to provide on-the-job training. It’s a great way to learn more about Apple devices while helping your fellow residents.or just the Mac Lab.
In addition to helping visitors, our volunteers perform many other functions. The Club has many classes a month on the iPhone, iPad, Mac Computer, Watch, and more. We are very fortunate to have dedicated volunteer instructors for these classes. If you have teaching experience and/or have knowledge in Apple-related subjects, we would also welcome you as a potential instructor. Other volunteers maintain our computers, printers, scanners, website and all equipment required to operate a computer lab.
Last, but not least, joining or renewing your annual membership (only $10) is a way for hundreds of members to support and keep the Club going. If you would like to join our volunteers, please speak to a staff member. We would then meet with you to discuss the many opportunities the Mac Club offers.
